Volunteer coaches

Our coaches

Good youth cricket starts with good coaching. Every CYCC coach is a volunteer who gives their Saturdays to this club — combining playing experience with the patience and structure that young players need.

Asheesh Singh

Volunteer Coach

Coaches across all four CYCC age groups, from a child's first session with a soft ball through to players preparing for competitive cricket. Works on getting the fundamentals right early — grip, stance, a repeatable bowling action — on the view that technique built properly at the start saves years of correcting habits later.

Shashi Kiran Tirumala

Volunteer Coach

Coaches across all four CYCC age groups and is comfortable with complete beginners and experienced players turning up to the same session. Keeps groups small and moving so every child leaves having actually batted and bowled, rather than having spent the morning waiting for a turn.

Our standard

What we expect
from our coaches

Volunteering does not mean a lower bar. Every CYCC coach works to the same standards, whatever their background in the game.

Qualified & screened

Coaching certification and background screening appropriate to working with minors.

Planned sessions

Every session has objectives, not just throwdowns. Players know what they are working on.

Everyone participates

No player stands in the outfield for two hours. Rotation, repetition and involvement for all.

Safety and welfare

Equipment checks, bowling workload limits, hydration breaks and a safe environment at all times.

Coach with CYCC

If you have played the game and want to give something back, we would like to talk. Experience helps, but reliability and the right attitude around children matter more.

Support roles

Assistant & team parents

Coaches cannot run a session alone. Assistant coaches, team managers and scorers make every training day and fixture possible.
